Tooshies Baby Wipes vs Water Wipes

We create practical, planet-friendly products you and your baby will love.
Our 99.4% pure water wipes, and nourishing aloe vera and chamomile wipes are both designed for the sensitive skin of newborns and growing babies.
We asked mums and midwives
Erin Gregory and Daisy Pearce to share all things water wipes: all the ways they use them, which wipes they prefer, and how Tooshies wipes compare to others.

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE NEW TOOSHIES WATER WIPES?

Daisy: The fact they’re made from more than 99% water with zero fragrance is fantastic. I can feel confident using them even when my babies’ skin is looking extra sensitive, knowing it won’t irritate them further.

Erin: I love the minimal ingredients. It’s a simple decision to clean my little one’s dry and red nose, or wipe the bleeding knees of my adventurous preschooler. I’ve even sent some to my nanna’s aged care residence for the nurses to use on her delicate and sensitive skin.

WHICH TOOSHIES WIPES DO YOU PREFER, AND WHY?

Erin: The original wipes have a special place in my heart. Whenever I smell them I’m instantly transported back to the juicy softness of my newborn baby’s skin. My older girls get embarrassed when I pull the baby wipes out on them, so they’re happy I have an alternative.

Daisy: I use both, at different times. Sylvie’s skin is more sensitive, so I prefer the water wipes for nappy changes with her. But I find the aloe vera and chamomile wipes are great for the “big jobs” and when we’re on the go — constantly wiping sticky food from hands and rescuing clothes (usually mine!) and cleaning the car and pram seats of food splats or mud.

HOW DO TOOSHIES WIPES COMPARE TO OTHER WIPES YOU’VE USED?

Daisy: I find tooshies wipes are more textured than most other brands, which makes it really easy to get their skin properly clean without having to wipe too hard, and they don’t leave that excessively fragrant moisture on their skin. I love that they’re biodegradable too — we go through so many.

Erin: The thickness of the wipes is luxurious. Did I just call a baby wipe luxurious? One tooshies wipe individually does what most others achieve when layered. Both are moist without being wet which creates the feeling of ‘washing your baby’s skin’ without needing to dry it afterwards. It’s like having access to running water and a face washer on-the-go.

BESIDES NAPPY CHANGES, WHAT ELSE DO YOU USE WIPES FOR?

Daisy: I have a pack of baby wipes stashed in all corners of my life (the car, my footy bag, under the pram). They are great for removing makeup after work, a quick freshen up of my skin when I’m going straight from training to an appointment or meeting, and I am constantly reaching for them to rescue our car seats, the pram and our clothes from food accidents!

Erin: I’m still not sure how I survived without wipes before motherhood. Besides nappy changes, sticky baby and kids hands, food spills, cleaning the kitchen, I carry a packet in my bag always. I’ve started conversations with “here do you need a wipe?”, cleaned the car, removed pen marks from the couch — is there anything they can’t do?!
